Phoenix, Arizona.
Phoenix, Arizona. First, does anyone find it difficult to spell this city correctly? Hmmm. Lets get to some factoids. It is not only the capital of Arizona, but its largest city. What do I know about the city? Well, it was the home to the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes who had build a good young team. But, unfortunately, they are moving due to years of neglect by the ownership. Here is to happier days for sports in Phoenix, and taking your date somewhere else (although a cool ice rink is a great way to spend the evening in a hot climate such as Phoenix). Other little factoids, it is quite close to the Mexican border, about 120 miles away only. It also lies in the middle of La and El Paso. There must have been a great movie or two made of the journey between these cities. The city’s population is about a million people and growing, quite the impressive feat. What to do in Phoenix if your going to have a date.
SONOARAN DESERT
Take your date to the Sonoran Desert for some hiking and breathtaking beauty. Surprisingly there are at times huge rain storms that make the environment and nature that much prettier. Learn about the vast diverse vegetation - cactuses, chollas, and saguros. Almost sounds like a meal could be made here, and I am sure there are some chefs who have done it. You can also take a guided tour and learn all about the different wildlife available. It is definitely a unique place to visit, and would make quite the unique first or second date if they are up for it. Remember always to go and do things safely.
Camelback mountains
A great place to explore and hike. Many popular trails here such as the cholla trail and others. Some have states that it is not an easy climb here at all. This date would only be for the adventurous at soul. Since the climb can be difficult with the rocky terrain. The payoff? Not only a great way to get to know someone along the trails, but you are rewarded with amazing views of the desert and the city beneath it. Some have suggested to do the hike at early morning. Reason being, can can a great an unique view of the mountains with the sun coming up just right. For those that are photo bugs, what better way to exercise your creative mind by taking some great pictures of the landscape and animals.
Phoenix Zoo
An oldie but a goodie place to take a date. Its actually situated within the Papago Park (such a nice name). It took creation in 1962. For its size, it has an impressive list of animals and species, 3,000 and 9-- respectively. Types of animals you will come across on your snow cone and ice cream date, is tigers, dragons, and giraffes among other animals as well.
Fan favorites at the exhibit is Stingray Bay. This is where you can actually touch a real live sting ray - does your date have the courage? I once did this in London, UK took a date to an interactive fish experience, great time had by all. Here at the Phoenix zoo, at Stingray Bay you can touch what is called the cownose stingray. The tank they are in is quite large, 15,000 gallons to be exact. If your one of the lucky ones, you can even feed the stingrays shrimp and seafood. The Safari cruiser is probably the best way to get around the zoo with your date - and your can learn about all the different animals, and the zoo itself with a guided tour. The ride lasts about 25 minutes and its good value and fun.
Interesting about Phoenix they have a wide variety of smaller museums compared to the large city, but some would argue more diverse. For example, you have the MIM, which is a museum of musical instruments! If your date loves music this may be the place to be. What is here you ask?
Well, they have an incredible collection of different stringed instruments - some say over 90 different pieces. There are many galleries here that are interactive - listen to music, play music, its all here for the music and history fan. They also have a music theatres - which fits over 300 people, where you can listen to all different types of music and bands. In the end, head over for a bit at their cafe - which reviewers have said it is quite a good spot for a little relaxation and food with your date.
For cuisine they talk about a sonoran hot dog? what is that you say? Lets see if that would make the perfect quick lunch while going to the zoo, or sight seeing, or simply walking the city. Its a Arizona delicacy - a bacon wrapped frankfurter. As the cliche saying goes ‘you had me at bacon”.
Homage to the culture, they put Pinto beans, and jalapeno salsa among other things on the dog. Now, that is an interesting cultural take on the hot dog indeed. Take two to go on my sugar date.
GRAND CANYON
Taking your date to the Grand Canyon. Is there someone in America who has not heard or seen of the Grand Canyon in countless movies and TV shows? Joe Dirt anyone? Lets delve a bit deeper into the natural icon. Grand Canyon is named that for a reason. Grand. Grand. Grand. Formed over millions of years by the Colorado River. It created amazing rock formations and chasms. The size of it is immense, 270 miles and more in length. The width can be anywhere from as small as a few hundred feet to as large as 18 miles! The depth can be equally as impressive, plunging down to over a mile down.
What to do here with your date? Lots of things to do. Lets run through a list briefly. You can hike the various trails, which each one brings something new to see. It can be a great way to spend the day with your date. On the way down the canyon you can see the layers of the rock as they get older and older. Fascinating history. You can take a helicopter tour of the canyon. Of course the views here are spectacular, but do you or your date have the courage for a helicopter ride? Could be a great way for some thrill seekers on a date to meet up.
Speaking of thrill seekers, is there a better way to see and experience the Canyon that white water rafting the Colorado river? That must be a once in a lifetime experience. Fun, entertaining, cool with water in the heat, and of course the thrill of going down the Colorado River. What a date that would be.
Finally, each city has its own sports teams. For Phoenix we have the Diamondbacks for baseball, the suns for basketball, and the cardinals for baseball. All fun things to do on a first date. Add a good dinner afterwards, and you have all the hallmarks of a long, fun date which is always the goal of any sugar date.
Average male income by age in Phoenix, Arizona for a dinner date.
This of course varies considerably in Phoenix, Arizona. There are some that spend a lot on a first date, and there are those who will treat you to a coffee and a cookie if you are lucky. So, in the end, it will be based on the location, personal preferences, and the restaurant itself.
Taking all that into consideration, the average cost of a dinner date in your city is $100- $150 dollars for an upscale experience in Phoenix. This includes dinner, drinks, desert. For a reasonable meal expect to pay $40 to $55. For those on a budget, one can expect to pay $30 for something decent from tacos, pizzas, burgers, etc.
Reasonable to Consider
Remember, there are always budget friendly options in Phoenix - not everyone needs to splurge on the first date, but it is a good idea to do so. No date wants to think of you as a budget friendly, thrifty, or cheap individual. If you like someone, nothing wrong in spending a few extra dollars more for a good meal and a good surrounding. It can make your dinner date much more impressionable, rewarding, and memorable. Iluv sugar mantra - when you can spend a little more, its always good to do so on the first date in Phoenix, Arizona.
