Come see the coolest and hottest sugar date spots in Baltimore, Maryland.
When you hear of the city of Baltimore, Maryland - what are the first thoughts that come to your mind? I think of crab, and the movie make John Waters. An odd combination to be sure. Let’s take a deeper dive into the city to what there is to for fun and activities on a first sugar date.
In terms of population, Baltimore is the 30th largest city in the United States with a population of approximately 590,000 people. It became officially a city in the year of 1851. It is located - surprisingly to me - 15 miles away from Chesapeake Bay. Would you guess its nickname? I wouldn’t its called either Charm City or Mob town - which I find both odd.
Usually, its hard to suggest a restaurant or food place for a date since the tastes and expectations vary so much from one individual to the other. As well, some people are very mindful of the budget they want to spend on a first date, which is more than understandable. Plus, are you wanting to take someone to a place that impresses, or that the food stands out instead rather the location or surroundings. Hopefully you can get both, but many times that is not the case.
Here, we will not attempt what type of establishment to visit, rather I will give some great suggestions as to what type of cuisine you should order to eat for your sugar date. For those out of state, Baltimore has a variety of food influences, but there is no getting away from its seafood connection from Chesapeake Bay. Since Maryland is famous for the one and only blue crabs, you know Baltimore is going to have some great places to grab some blue crabs with your date for dinner or even lunch. There is nothing finer than blue crabs that are steamed and spiced properly.
What other seafood delights can I suggest for a first date - well, next up would be the world famous crabcakes. Either as an appetizer or a meal - either way Baltimore crab cakes when done right, are delicious and fresh. Finally, if crab cakes or blue crabs is not your dates favorite, then you can’t miss with Baltimore oysters. The Chesapeake Bay is full of different variety's of oysters and you can have them prepared in a variety of ways - fried or raw - and its you and your dates choice which way you like them best. A cant miss seafood fest awaits you on a Baltimore date.
Since we are on the topic of fish - why not visit on your sugar date the world renowned Baltimore Aquarium? They have a number of exhibits that you and your date may find interesting. Suggestions at the aquarium would the following: they have a coral reef exhibit several stories high - gives you a better view to see some amazing and gorgeous sea creatures. Also, the crowd favorite Open Ocean Shark Tank - get a chance to see the deadly killers of the seas in all their magnifico glory up close and personal.
I would suggest though, to get a bit of a different experience than everyone else at the aquarium, to sign up for a behind the aquarium tour. Get a chance to go behind the scene, see how the aquarium works, feed the species, and lots of interactive and fun information on this tour. If you really love fish, and want an experience online no other, the Aquarium even has the rare sleep over - not sure how fun that would be - but it certainly would be interesting, and definitely selfie moment. In all, there are over 800 species at the Baltimore Aquarium, so you should find something entertaining along with your date if you spend the day there.
Surprisingly, or not for some people, a great place to spend the day with your date would be the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) which came to fruition in 1914. It may not be the biggest gallery, but it certainly has some amazing collections of artists that are truly important.
Not only is the gallery’s collection fairly substantial - over 95,000 objects of art can be found - but as mentioned, the artists are stunning. For instance they have over 1,000 works by the artist Henri Matisse - which is extraordinary.
Add to that the museum states it has one of the largest section to view of prints and photographs which can truly make for an exception day of viewing art. Upcoming exhibit's to keep an eye on are the following - Baltimore famous artist Joyce Scoot is having an exhibition of over 140 of her pieces. There is another interesting exhibit of women printmakers in society. Add to that the Art of Chinese Calligraphy - the gallery will be holding a workshop in this for all interested guests. Also, either during a break, or perhaps when you are leaiving the gallery, I would stornly recommend to make sure and visit their sculptured gardens - some beautiful works of art can be found here in mothers natures style. Please note, before going on your date to the gallery, the best would be to go online at the galleries home site, to check out the calendar, to see what events and exhibits are available, and the plan your date and day around something you may find interesting.
If you want to have a guaranteed fun time on your date, then you can’t miss a day and a date at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. People who have visited the zoo rave about its exhibits on a fairly sized zoo at 135 plus acres. At the zoo you will find over 200 species, representing over 1,500 animals. Surprisingly enough it is on of the oldest zoos in the United States dating all the way back to 1876. Is there anything I should keep on the lookout at the Baltimore Zoo when I am there. My recommendations would the following - go the Animals Up Close - there you can not only see the animals up close as the exhibit states, but you can hear directly from their caretakers and trainers who tell you about the animal - its personality, behaviors, liked and dislikes. Quite interesting to hear from people who spend their lives taking care of these animals. Another zoo favorites, of course are the penguins. You can visit the Penguin encounters, and see the rare African penguin species here and learn about its habitat and the obstacles it faces to grow and thrive in the world.
One of my favorites is visiting the rhinoceros - a tremendously powerful but oh so interesting animal. You can find them at the African Watering Hole. If you have time, try to make sure you go to various animal feeding times which are daily. The most popular and most frequent are the Penguin feedings. Plus, there are many more favorite animals to see and explore - the last two being to make sure you see the giraffes, and the cute and oh so smart river otters - where you can watch them being trained and fed at the zoo.
Average male income by age in Baltimore, Maryland for a dinner date.
This of course varies considerably in Baltimore. There are some that spend a lot on a first date, and there are those who will treat you to a coffee and a cookie if you are lucky. So, in the end, it will be based on the location, personal preferences, and the restaurant itself.
Taking all that into consideration, the average cost of a dinner date in your city is $80- $120 dollars for an upscale experience in Baltimore. This includes dinner, drinks, desert. For a reasonable meal expect to pay $32 to $50. For those on a budget, one can expect to pay $20 for something decent from tacos, pizzas, burgers, etc.
Reasonable to Consider
Remember, there are always budget friendly options in Baltimore - not everyone needs to splurge on the first date, but it is a good idea to do so. No date wants to think of you as a budget friendly, thrifty, or cheap individual. If you like someone, nothing wrong in spending a few extra dollars more for a good meal and a good surrounding. It can make your dinner date much more impressionable, rewarding, and memorable. Iluv sugar mantra - when you can spend a little more, its always good to do so on the first sugar date in Baltimore, Maryland.
