When you think of the city St. Louis what comes to mind first? I think of the famous arch and the hockey team the St. Louis Blues and the famous logo. What is there to do in the city for a first time date in regards to things to see and participate in? Well, let’s take a deeper and dive and see all the fun things to do on a date in the city of St. Louis.
As a city it is on the smaller side - approximately a little over 300,000 people. However, its metropolitan is much larger at 2.8 million people. The city began and was founded in 1764, and surprisingly to many, named after the King in France, King Louis. Nicknames for the city are many - with the most recognized being Gateway City.
What to see and do in the city for the first time sugar date. Why not do the obvious and get the perfect selfie moment - go to the giant Gateway Arch - 630 plus feet height, and take a photo. You can also take a tram ride to the top of the Arches, which will give you and your date some amazing views of the city and the Mississippi river.
How about a sporting event? Not the cheapest of dates but certainly a fun one to be sure. You have you choice of three major sports - soccer, hockey, or baseball. Personally, if I want excitement I go to a hockey game, if I want to get my moneys worth, and get a long slow game, then baseball is the way to go. Don’t forget the hot dogs and popcorn if you are going to a baseball game with your date.
How about heading to a day at the amusement part for some thrilling rides and good food? Then you should head over to 6 flags amusement park. For you coaster fans, they have their great assortment, but some of the best are American Thunder, Mr. Freeze, and my favorite the wooden old time roller coaster the Boss. To have a fun time with a sugar date, there may be no better at the amusement park, then heading out to their water park, and enjoying some sun, water and laughter. They have a wave pool and a lazy river, to beat the heat of St. Louis in the hot summer. The final recommendation would be something new the park added - that would be the Joker - the tallest not in the US, but one of the tallest rides in the world. If you and your date have a bit of courage why not try the Joker.
For something a bit more tamer, although may be a bit prettier, why not try the Missouri Botanical Gardens. It may not be the first place you think of to take a first date in St. Louis, but it may make an interesting day date excursion. Let’s see what the Gardens have to offer shall we. Historically, the gardens were first created around 1859. It has a very interesting greenhouse, one of them being the Climatron. Here you and your date can see what a rainforest environment would look like. As nature has it, over 1,300 different plants can be found here at this geodesic dome - definitely an interesting space and selfie worthy.
For those seeking a bit more tranquility, then try the Botanical Gardens Japanese garden. It is quite impressive with the gardens stating is the Unites States largest Japanese garden. A strong suggestion after visiting the Botanical Gardens would be go to the Saint Louis Art Museum. You can find the museum in Forest Park. The museum has quite the extensive housing of art and history that goes back over 5,000 years. It likes to state that is has in its collection over 35,000 objects - quite the impressive museum.
There are also some interesting exhibitions - ranging from the Spanish American works, to the Native American works. If you are fan of expressionist paintings than you should see the exhibit called the Concealed layers. For fashion enthusiasts why not head to the exhibit called the Shimmering Silks - this is where you can find various textiles from Japan from the centuries of the eighteenth and ninetieth century works.
However, there are certainly some must see objects of art and interest to see with you and your sugar date. I would strongly suggest to visit the Egyptian exhibit - you get to see the incredible work of this advanced cavillation and of course the rare and famous mummies. For paintings, the museum definitely has some famous greats from the European masters such as Rembrandt and the great Van Goh - to as well as local American art - such as Thomas Cole that should be on anyone's list to see when at the museum.
Make sure if you have the time to wander a bit outside of the museum so you can take a good look at their sculpture garden. There you will find two items of interest - the Art in Architecture - where the building itself has several sculptures attached to it. As well as the Grace Tatlor Gardens - here you will find sculptured works of art using natures resoursec. Quite lovely and serene to spend a bit of time here with your sugar date. A cant miss sugar date day date proposal would be the St. Louis Zoo. The zoo iteself dates back all the way to 1910 making it one of the oldest zoos in the US. The collection of animals is vast, and it will take more than a day to see, and the zoo boasts more than 600 species in total to see and learn about. What would I suggest to see at the zoo? Make sure not to miss 3 favorites spots - the penguins, the hippos in a giant water pool, and something they call the Rivers Edge - here you will find Africa’s most interesting eco system - elephants and the ever elusive cheetahs. For those who want a little more interaction the zoo provides feeding times for the audience to watch and participate for certain species. The more popular ones are when you get to feed the giraffes, and for something a bit different, there is also stingray feeding.
To cap off your sugar date, why not make sure to the Sea Lion Show - always good for a laugh. As well, you can’t leave the zoo without stopping by the Bird show - interesting, and quite lovely birds to see. If you do decide to go to the zoo, make sure you look online what exhibits and attractions are new and available for you and your sugar date to plan a memorable day. As you can see, there is much to do and see on your first sugar date in the wonderful city of St. Louis. From heading out to sporting events like the St. Louis Blues and other pro teams, to some excellent city activities to do - like the Zoo, the Art Gallery, and museums. Add to that some wonderful parks and restaurants, you definitely have a choice of activities and exhibits to see and do with your sugar date in the lovely city of St. Louis.
