The city of Dallas is located in Texas. It is the 9th largest city in the United States of America. The most recent population of the city has been approximately 1,401,037 people. It is a very large city in overall size, approximately 387 square miles, very large indeed. City history, is that Dallas owes its expansion, as well as other Texas states due to the creation of major railroad lines. These railways lines were the lifeline to the city, bringing resources to sell to other states and city such as oil, cotton, and of course cattle. The final transportation link was the creation of large highways, thus solidifying Dallas as a center for transportation. Does anyone know the nickname of the Dallas city? It goes by a few, all unknown to me and the majority I would assume - most popular being the Big D.
If you want to go on a park date, most would suggest a park called Klyde Warren. Designed as a casual town square. It was named after a billionaires son, who, generously donated funds for the park to be built. Its located in Dallas down town core. Some have described it as quite a beautiful park. It may not be the largest at only 5 acres, but it does have a dog park, various food trucks and stalls, and some great walking trails. A great place to spend a picnic, or a long walk with your date.
ART GALLERY
What about going to an art gallery in Dallas? The most popular one is the Dallas Museum of Art. You can find it in the down town core of the city. It was actually built in 1903. The gallery takes its place as one of the 10 largest art museums in the country. The gallery is most proud of its global collections. You can find here with your date over 21,000 works of art. The history of these pieces dates as far back as over 5,000 years - very impressive. What is recommended to stop and take a closer look would be the following art pieces such as the Iceberg 1861 by Edwin Church, Fox in the Snow 1860 by Gustave Courbet, and works by Salvador Dali and Vincent Van Gogh. The gallery also has an extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts that are worth for you and your date to take a closer look at. Personally, my favourite it the Contemporary Art housed in the gallery, where they also have paintings by artists who are still alive and well.
Of course, if a bit of American history interests you and your date what about going to the 6th floor Museum situated at Dealey Plaza. Here, you find a museum dedicated to the events surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It also delves much deeper into his presidency and his legacy. May make an interesting stop for a casual date. If its a lovely day, why not try the Dallas Botanical Gardens. It is nationally recognized, for good reason, an its size to explore the gardens if very large - approximately 65 acres of gorgeous grounds and flowers. The gardens like to point out they have 11 total gardens to view and visit, and quite a few water features as well. If you check your calendar, you will see they have the annual Dallas Blooms Spring festival which is a must have event for those interested in flowers.
OPERA HOUSE
Why not a night at the Opera with your date? Taking a look at the building for the first time, you can indeed see why its fans call the building an architectural wonder. The theme or inspiration behind the design of the Opera house was through a lens or interpretation of a 21st century viewpoint of modernity.
The hall itself is medium size, sitting approximately 2,200 people for a variety of performances such theatre, plays, ballet, and various operas.
More about the building itself - when you enter with your date, it is towering its entrants with a height of over 60 feet. It is quite ornamental in nature giving its own beauty - with gold leaf balconies, chandeliers, and a canopy. Very impressive for any couple going on a date to their first opera. Style indeed. Critics have hailed Dallas Opera House, surprisingly, as one of the finest in the entire country - high praise indeed for a wonderful building, both inside and out.
PEROT MUSEUM
The Perot Museum for a date? When someone mentions Perrot, aka Ross Perot, I think of the almost successful first time candidate who almost became president of the United States. The Museum in fact is named after him and his wife. The Museum of Nature and Science. Why a date here you ask? The Museum is a standout for many reasons. It houses a combination of potential interests - from dinosaurs to space and its exploration. It has exhibits of the T Rex, a real life Mars Rover, as well as live music and food trucks. An interesting and varied place to take a date. Let’s not forget the architecture of the building before you enter, world class.
State Fair of Texas
Is there a better place to take your date that the State Fair of Texas. Fun, food, and more fun seems to be the consensus for the fair. The fair started out in 1886, and has become bigger and better every year. Not many know - the fair is about 24 days in length - plenty of time to schedule a day date with your sugar date.
Upon first glance, you’ll notice there is some interesting architecture and lots of spaces of greenery. What can you find at the fair? Exhibits of all kinds, music, animal sporting events, and of course, not only great food, but unique and fair favorite creations of the state of Texas. Any selfie moments here with your date? Let’s see, you have a 50 foot plus cowboy statue, some livestock exhibits, don’t forget the amusement rides, as well as the carnival. Add to that car show. cooking contents, and live music - you can’t miss to finding something fun to do with you date, along with some famous fried Oreos, and turkey legs!
Strange but fun: If you think you date would enjoy doing some things on her date in the off the beaten path, here are some great suggestions. First, ever seen the movie, or read about the real life gangster duo Bonnie and Clyde? Well if you have, their graves are actually in Texas, which some people actually do visit. Something a bit more chipper would be Fossil Park.
True its a good 1 and half hour ride from Dallas, a bit far for some, but it may be worth it to go on a real true to life architectural dig. You never know what you and your date may dig up! Quite fascination is that you can even see dinosaur foots prints in the dried up bed of the river. Also, If your date and you are into athletics, you may want to try Scuba Diving in Dallas. You can explore at the Sea Live Aquarium. If you want your water activity to be above the water and not below, why not try some surfing at the indoor water park in Dallas. Always a good while to beat the heat, and have some fun doing it.
Average male income by age in Dallas, Texas
for a dinner date.
This of course varies considerably in Dallas. There are some that spend a lot on a first date, and there are those who will treat you to a coffee and a cookie if you are lucky. So, in the end, it will be based on the location, personal preferences, and the restaurant itself in Dallas, Texas.
Taking all that into consideration, the average cost of a dinner date in your city is $150- $250 dollars for an upscale experience in Dallas. This includes dinner, drinks, desert. For a reasonable meal expect to pay $75 to $100. For those on a budget, one can expect to pay $35 for something decent from tacos, pizzas, burgers, etc.
Reasonable to Consider
Remember, there are always budget friendly options in Dallas - not everyone needs to splurge on the first date, but it is a good idea to do so. No date wants to think of you as a budget friendly, thrifty, or cheap individual. If you like someone, nothing wrong in spending a few extra dollars more for a good meal and a good surrounding. It can make your dinner date much more impressionable, rewarding, and memorable. Iluv sugar mantra - when you can spend a little more, its always good to do so on the first date in Dallas, Texas. .
