Come see the coolest and hottest sugar date spots in
Houston, Texas.
Some quick facts about the city. Would most know it is the 4th largest city in the United States? It has a population about 2,300,000 people. Situated in the great state of Texas, and is located near Galveston Bay. Let’s see where the best spots would be to take your sugar date if she is visiting out of town and coming to Houston for the very first time. Lets try going to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It is situated on the north side border of Hermann Park. The building is quite large, taking up five whole floors. It has quite the unique and eclectic mix of areas and topics to see with your sugar date that most museums could not match. For instance it is diverse as Space and Astronomy, Chemistry and Seashells, Texas species of animals, and of course Native American history. Quite the eclectic mix!
There are two things that stand out for many who go on an outing or date at the museum, and that would be either their Planetarium or their wonderful Butterfly Centre. Its like stepping into an indoor rainforest and experiencing all those wonderful and colourful butterflies. Quite the rare and interesting treat.
How about Spending the day at a Park? One of the most famous in Houston, Texas is the Buffalo Bayour Park. It is quite the large park at over 160 acres. Not only is it pretty, but you can do a lot of outdoor activities with your date here. Lets take a more in depth look shall we.
One thing you will notice about the park they have a quite a few gorgeous gardens. There is even a waterway you along with some very pretty views. If you like to bike, run, or walk - there are miles of trails for you at this park. Even better, if you have a loved one, and we mean the pooches here, they have a great dog park as well. Also, for the more high brow, surprisingly, there are various and different art installations through out the park. It adds a nice touch and contrast to the natural surroundings of the park. One of the best ways to spend time in the park in a natural old fashioned picnic. Many gorgeous spots to eat with your date, on the green grass by a tree or near the water, cant go wrong for a lunch here. If you don’t want a picnic, the park does offer a decent restaurant on the grounds as well. Lastly, if you are the younger generation, you can always impress your date with your skateboarding prowess and the nearby skatepark in the park itself. Enjoy.
Every time I think of Space Centre Houston, i remember this old Don Knott film (he of Three’s Company fame) where he plays someone who gets lost and shot into space. Some funny comedic bits, and it got me interested in space and exploration even since, sans the peanut butter episode. The best way to explore this is the Space Centre Houston with your date. It is fairly inexpensive to get in to the exhibit. Surprisingly they even had dinosaurs at this exhibit. Anytime you mix space and dinosaurs chances are you are going to have a good time.
For those more computer inclined, why not try their VR experience. The program they have now is walking through the International Space Station. That sounds quite interesting and impressive. As well, there are many rockets and different types of spaceships on display to see and explore. Equally interesting, they have a training facility you can explore for future astronauts. What seems to be the most popular is the NASA tram tours. It seems they sell out quite quickly, so the advice is best to plan ahead if you want to take your date on a tram ride at the centre. If something more alive than space rocks is your thing, then why not try the HOUSTON ZOO.
Let’s start off with its size, which is quite large at 55 acres. It is situated within a park called Hermann Park. Most would agree that its collection of species is large with more than 900 species and a total of over 6,200 animals. Surprisingly, the zoo receives more than 2 million yearly visitors, making it the second most popular zoo in all of the United States.
If your date is a bit of a classical music lover why not tickets to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra? They are rated quite high, in fact they won a coveted Grammy. Even more interesting, is when they have nights where the audience gets to watch a movie while they play the movies score entirely in a live performance. Interesting and unique, and may be the place for a great first date. If you and your date like to simply browse in a great neighbourhood, I would suggest trying out the Buckhead (love that name) Village District. This is definitely an interesting mix of style and luxury in this area. You can walk hand in hand on the quaint and charming cobblestone streets, and numerous communal areas in the neighborhood. Then you can stop and have an excellent drink and meal after you finish the window and people shopping in this stylish area.
It’s goal as stated by the zoo is connect people with animals and to save and preserve wildlife. A noble goal to be sure. Great way to spend a day with your date here. What animals make it such a standout we want to know? They house the rare white rhinoceros, which I believe a few films were made about that species. Fan favorites are places like the Asian Elephant Habitat. Visors say the elephants have a huge new barn, and a new boardwalk makes an excellent observation post to see the elephants as close as possible. What other fun things to do here with your sugar date? How about the following. Feed the Giraffes! Definitely a visitor favorite. They have something called a Giraffe feeding platform for visitors, where you can fee the giraffes lettuce! Who knew giraffes liked lettuce. Added bonus, ostriches and zebras share the same space so you will get additionally viewing bonuses here with the animals.
One of my favourites here is visiting the Gorillas. Ever since the classic Planet of The Apes, who didn’t love gorillas? They have a total of seven gorillas here from the lowlands. If your feeling a bit daring on the date, then why not try the nearby water park. Get to see each other in your play suits is never a bad thing.
My favourite during the date at the zoo, tell her about the famous Kookaburras. This is similar to Cartman’s ChubaKabra. If your seeking some night life, then down town Houston will not disappoint. You can walk with your date in the historic down town part of the town. Then head over to Market Square Park. Lots of bars and restaurants here. You also have history walks here - such as the historic clock tower walk, or take a history walk. Don’t forget, the city hosts a lot of community outdoor events here, such as art shows, bands, etc.
What about live sports with your date? For the sporty date, pick your team and sport. You have baseball with the Houston Astros. You have NFL football with the Texans. If you love NBA basketball then why not the Rockets? For the newer sports, such as soccer, you have the Dynamo. Lots of fun teams and exciting matches to see in the city of Houston. Finally, lets not forget the immense types of various cuisines and foods that Texas is famous for that can all be found in Houston. For those who love Tex Mex - Houston is the capital. You can also try if you are in luck during the season of the Houston Food Truck Festival. Also, if you care for some exploring as well, try to visit Chinatown always a good place to find a great meal tucked away somewhere.
Average male income by age in Houston, Texas for a dinner date.
This of course varies considerably in Houston. There are some that spend a lot on a first date, and there are those who will treat you to a coffee and a cookie if you are lucky. So, in the end, it will be based on the location, personal preferences, and the restaurant itself.
Taking all that into consideration, the average cost of a dinner date in your city is $220 dollars for an upscale experience in Houston. This includes dinner, drinks, desert. For a reasonable meal expect to pay $70 to $100. For those on a budget, one can expect to pay $35 for something decent from tacos, pizzas, burgers, etc.
Reasonable to Consider
Remember, there are always budget friendly options in Houston - not everyone needs to splurge on the first date, but it is a good idea to do so. No date wants to think of you as a budget friendly, thrifty, or cheap individual. If you like someone, nothing wrong in spending a few extra dollars more for a good meal and a good surrounding. It can make your dinner date much more impressionable, rewarding, and memorable. Iluv sugar mantra - when you can spend a little more, its always good to do so on the first date in Houston, Texas.
